Low moisture pulse seed is more prone to damage during handling including seeding operations. Many experienced pulse growers moisturize their pulse seed to reduced damage.
Generally speaking 7 gallons of water per 100 bushels of seed is required to raise the moisture content by 1%
Adding moisture to seed will increase the thousand seed weight and change the bulk density - be sure to adjust your seeding rate and recalibrate your drill.
