Summary.

This study was carried out to determine the effect of zero tillage on seedling blight of canola, net blotch, and root rot of barley grown in a three year rotation containing two years of barley, followed by one year of canola.

In barley, net blotch was significantly less on zero tillage plots than on conventional tillage plots.

Similar results were obtained for root rot in barley.

Tillage systems did not affect populations of the fungus Rhizoctonia solani that causes seedling blight of canola.
