Many farmers accept a gradual reduction in the percent legume in mixed forage crops as a normal symptom of an aging stand. Working down the existing forage and establishing another stand is costly. Results from field research trials have shown fertilizers may be a viable alternative to conventional methods of rejuvenating unproductive forage stands.
